Riverside MP Louise Ellman has blasted the Tory Government for a ‘pathetic’ response to her concerns about cuts and the impact on 1,300 City of Liverpool College places next year.

The MP quizzed Business Secretary Sajid Javid on his 24% budget reduction in adult skills which will result in lost places during the next academic year.

Junior minister Nick Boles got back to her and said the funding formula was based on ‘learner demand’. He added that most of the planned £450m cuts nationwide would be delivered by ‘underspends’ …[full story on the Liverpool Echo website]
